You may have heard of the sushi conveyor belt restaurants in Japan where all sorts of sushi is circled around you, and you pay based on the color and amount of plates you consume. Well a creative girl decided to put her camera on the conveyor and film reactions from people once they realized they were on camera. So cool.

Interesting, but a bit fake looking if you ask me. Too much in shot too much of the time, especially when the staff start passing it about.

Thanks for mentioning that Dennis. Not sure why they made it private, it was getting a lot of attention. Unfortunately all I was able to find was a video set to music. I didn’t watch it all, so it may not have the original Japanese audio which was funny in itself.

That was awesome. I wonder if there are any legal issues about capturing people on video. I really want to go do this now….First I need to buy a new camera.

That was really cool for us in the U.S.A. to be able to get a brief glimpse into the lives of people over there. I honestly did not know that even in a commercial restaurant people took off their shoes. Here they would get thrown out for it..lol (no shirt, no shoes.. no service !). I also enjoyed seeing regular people doing regular things. While the kitchen staff may have been in on it (that kind of makes sense if you want your camera back..) everyone else’s expressions seem candid and honest. Japan rocks !
What an interesting idea. I didn’t think it looked fake at all. Music is like elevator music or marry-go-round. I don’t think I’d want my stuffing my face on Youtube though. lol… did they get permission? Ah… the freedom of … uh… Youtube!
ah that was class! got to a 回転寿å¸ï¼ (kaitenzushi) knew it had to go back through to the cooking part, already anxious of how they would react! lol the guy out front was obviously in on it cause he said it was okay, but the cooking staff seemed to be a bit annoyed at the customers who did it, probably thought “baka gaijin!” but it’s great to get to see all around the place, the music was funny but I’d also like to see it with the origional audio too =) oh well. thanks for the video!
