Creepy crawling Japanese salaryman +
What would you do if you saw this salaryman crawling on the ground, in the middle of downtown?
Loading ...Actually, this crawling man is a piece of performance art by Momoyo Torimitsu. But what is the message being sent? Torimitsu says the robot represents the Asian economic crash, and the rigid “salaryman” culture in Japan. The crawling motion is synonymous with the crawling a soldier does in a battlefield. So in a sense, salaryman in Japan are like corporate soldiers, willing to put up with whatever hardships that arises for the good of the company.

I couldn’t vote because you didn’t include the “I would tie myself to his leg with my necktie and let him drag me home while I slept off the effects of my after-work bender” option.
But, I’ve seen plenty of salarymen in worse condition here in Tokyo, so I don’t think Ms. Torimitsu is making such a radical statement.
