I love a good Japanese horror movie. Half of my movies on Netflix are split between Japanese comedies and horror movies. One of the movies I will have to save and hope it makes it to Netflix soon is Tokyo Gore Police. It’s your standard police having to deal with superhuman ‘engineers’ who can grow weapons out of any wound inflicted on them. The Tokyo gore police in turn train ‘engineer hunters’ to exterminate them. Tokyo Gore Police actually won Best Asian Film at the Fant-Asia Film Festival.
The Wii has played a part in promoting the film. A fictional game called ‘Remote Contorol Exterminate’ features a family spending a quite night at home slicing up a terrorized victim for fun. What great marketing.
