MeGlobe: Chat in Japanese +

MeGlobe: Chat in different languages

If you had to choose one thing that keeps us from truly connecting on a global level, what would it be? To me, it has to be language. While language is one of the most fundamental things that unifies a group of people, it also hinders a lot of communication between groups of people.

Enter MeGlobe. This revolutionary new service still in beta hopes to transform online chatting.

MeGlobeâ„¢ was built to diminish language barriers from online communication. Our free web client lets you type in your own language, but sends a translated version, in near real time, specific to the native tongue of whomever you are chatting with. With MeGlobeâ„¢ there is no such thing as ‘lost in translation.’

What’s really cool about this service is that it recognizes machine translation isn’t quite at the point of being perfect, so it allows users to submit thier own translations, thus allowing thier translations to dynamically improve. So far, MeGlobe supports English, Japanese, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Spanish, Russian, Dutch, Greek, Swedish, Arabic, Korean, and Chinese.

Mona, who speaks Japanese fluently tested it and she said it wasn’t perfect (somewhere between Bablefish and Google Translator). However, it still captures the gist of what you are trying to say thus making a conversation feasable.

I have a feeling this is just the beginning for MeGlobe. Head over there and register your screen names before they are taken! And of course, you can find me as ‘xorsyst’ on MeGlobe.

  1. [...] MeGlobe este un serviciu online care ne permite sa comunicam cu persoane de pe intreg globul prin distrugerea barierei lingvistice. Acesta traduce in timp real ce scriem, practic utilizatorul vazand totul in limba sa natala. via xorsyst [...]
