If more companies backed and promoted anime here in the states, I think theres a good chance of breaking into the mainstream audience. Pizza Hut Japan has started a new campaign promoting the Code Geass series in Japan. When you order a pizza between March 27 and May 11th, you get a custom box with Code Geass art, a downloadable wallpaper, and an entry into a contest where the prize is a pizza box and script signed by the creaters of Code Geass. How cool is that? Source Anime News Network
The Empire of Britannia has invaded Japan using giant robot weapons called Knightmare Frames. Japan is now referred to as Area 11, and its people the 11’s. A Britannian who was living in Japan at the time, Lelouch, vowed to his Japanese friend Suzaku that he’d destroy Britannia. Years later, Lelouch is in high school, but regularly skips out of school to go play chess and gamble on himself. One day, he stumbles on terrorists 11’s who’ve stolen a military secret and is caught by a member of the Britannian task force sent after them, who is Suzaku. As the rest of the squad arrives, Suzaku is shot for disobeying orders, while the military secret, a young girl, gives Lelouch the power of Geass, which makes anyone obey any order. While Suzaku is secretly made the pilot of Britannia’s brand new prototype Knightmare, Lancelot, Lelouch becomes the masked Zero to lead the rebellion to destroy Britannia once and for all. Haha, I can’t wait for CG Season II subbed :) I think I’d have to be careful not to stain the top of the box with pizza stains though.
I wonder if they will deliver an extra box for you if you paid a little bit extra. I would have to ask. Stuff like that becomes collectors items when everyone forgets about it.
Hmm that’s true actually. Let’s revisit this in a few months time and see how much they’re worth on Ebay/Japanese equivalent? ;)
I only eat pizza from pizza hut!
