On my recent trip to St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands, I was surprised by a sign of Japan on this small Caribbean island. Just past downtown St. Thomas, and just pass the only Hooters on the island was the base of a mountain that led into the section of the island where many of the houses lie. The locals call this area “the country”. It was on the right that I spotted a plastic sign that said,
“The one and only 100% official Sanrio Store in VI.”
I was a bit shocked to see a Sanrio store in St. Thomas. The area is the location of where the cruise ships dock, so I’m sure they get a lot of business when kids see Sanrio. Unfortunately the store was closed and I never made it back to that part of the store to go inside, so I just have pictures from around the building. The place looked a bit run down, but from what I saw inside, it was things like stationary, pens, plushes, etc.
Thank you for posting this! I was on a tour and I saw the store but I didn’t know where I was because the tour guide had stopped speaking in that area -.-. Now I know where I’m going this weekend…lol.
